Visual Productions-Burg Clam has watched over the Danube valley since 1149 and has been home to the Counts of Clam since 1454.

Perched on a granite hilltop in Upper Austria, between Vienna and Salzburg, it remains a lived-in family castle — and, beside it, one of Austria's best-known open-air concert settings. ClamLive has welcomed artists including Sting, Lenny Kravitz, and Nick Cave.
When it came to illuminating the castle façade, the brief for Geckow was refreshingly simple: create an advanced system that would feel effortless to use. The Count needed to light his own home without having to think about DMX, channels, or programming.
Geckow built the installation around a CueCore3, storing the required lighting scenes directly in its onboard memory. A Kiosc interface on a tablet then turns the underlying control system into a clear visual layout of the castle: select an area, choose a scene, and the system does the rest.
The 21 façade fixtures, installed by Geckow's partner VC Media, can be controlled independently, dimmed as required, or recalled through presets for real occasions such as weddings, New Year's Eve, and family celebrations.
When the Count is away, the same scenes can be managed remotely.
For everyday operation, a dusk sensor brings the lighting on at the right moment, while an adjustable timer turns it off later at night.
Once configured, the system can simply run in the background.
Adapting for Live Events
The castle also needs to adapt when ClamLive takes over.
During concerts, the festival's front-of-house team can manually override the façade lighting and blend it into the show.
When the event ends, the installation returns automatically to its everyday operation — no reset procedure, no specialist knowledge required.
One CueCore3. One Kiosc interface
Three ways to operate: manually, on a schedule, or from the festival desk.
A fitting solution for a family home with centuries of history — and a stage for contemporary live music.
